This iconic Pioneer A-400 stereo amplifier came in with multiple problems, most not initially apparent. It ended up fooling me a couple of times, when I incorrectly believed to have solved all the faults.
This was a real challenge, especially as many techs had been in here before me, and left more damage than repair. The errors in the schematic also did not help much.
I hope that this repair report helps anyone who has to do a repair on this amp model in the future. It really is a great amp, and well worth the effort.
