On Monday, Oct. 11 many Americans will celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day, at the same time the Nation will also commemorate Columbus Day. The prior will seek to honor the people, cultures, histories, stories and contributions of Indigenous People. And the latter will commemorate a European explorer who was lost at sea yet claimed to have "discovered" lands that were already inhabited. On Friday October 8, President Biden issued two proclamations. One celebrating #IndigenousPeoplesDay and a second commemorating #ColumbusDay. Over my #2ndCupOfCoffee I will read both proclamations and discuss them. I invite you to join me.
