Vola is a Danish/Swedish progressive metal act that, despite my distance from the prog scene lately, recently caught my attention with their latest album "Applause of a Distant Crowd" which I absolutely loved!
The song "Smartfriend" was among my personal favourites with very heavy 8-string metal riffs which remind me a bit of Korn. They top the song off with lovely sounding synths and textures which I couldn't resist playing myself over the track.
Although they use 8-string guitars I (for once more) trusted my Whammy DT to bring me down to the low F# tuning. Look up the tabs included, for more details on how to play the song.
