(8 Oct 2015) British Foreign Secretary Phillip Hammond on Thursday praised Serbia for its handling of the migration crisis, adding that the UK would continue to support the Serbian government's efforts.
Hammond was in Belgrade to hold talks with the Serbian prime minister over Kosovo, the migration crisis as well as economic and political reform.
After the meeting, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said the country would do its best to prepare for the winter to accommodate migrants who are passing through Serbia.
Vucic also said he would not be travelling to Albania to attend a qualifier for the European football championships between Albania and Serbia.
It is thought that Vucic was objecting to the possible presence of Kosovo's Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci at the match.
