Let’s get one thing straight from the jump: guns are objects. That’s it. They’re tools, machines, mechanisms made of steel, polymer, wood, or composite materials. They don’t have political affiliations, they don’t vote, and they certainly don’t care about left or right, conservative or liberal, urban or rural. But here’s the rub: somewhere along the way, the simple, utilitarian reality of what a gun is got lost in a whirlwind of rhetoric, cultural clashes, and fear-driven narratives. And let’s be honest—both sides of the political spectrum have contributed to that.
