Are you considering a career in internal audit? Most professionals do not start with this profession right after graduation. In fact, an internal audit team consists of people from various backgrounds – technical accountants such as external auditors, and those on the IT side, and business unit side of the company.
The best thing about IA, for many people, is the relatively stable life style and work-life balance. There are busy times during the year, but in most cases it is less stressful than external audit work. Having said that, if your company has regional and oversea branches, then expect to travel often as you cover the business units and regional offices.
