Dholavira is a small and remote village in the Kutch district of Gujarat. Dholavira is one among 10-12 villages on an island in the middle of the great Rann of Kutch lake. Dholavira is known for its white Rann and spectacular sunset. There’s a long scenic road called the Road to Heaven that connects Dholavira to the White Rann . A large portion of the road goes through the great white Rann. The same route further goes to Lakhpat, an abandoned port town on the western edge of India. Lakhpat used to be an important port town and marketplace for the traders and travelers till the early 19th century before an earthquake devastated the whole port and surrounding areas following which the town turned into a deserted ruins.
