If you receive a SPLA audit notice, your first action will probably be to ask for your SPLA reseller's assistance.
While it's not a bad idea, have the right expectations.
SPLA resellers are Microsoft partners. While they have the best intentions when helping you, their hands are tied. Their core agenda is license sales, not audit assistance. Their allegiance is with Microsoft, not you.
So, take their advice – it's valuable – but realise that there's always much more that can be done to reduce your audit penalties.
