Since 1991, the Reverso has been the canvas for the watchmaker’s watchmaker to flex its horological muscles. Until the 2021 release of the Quadryptique, the Grande Complication à Triptyque was arguably the most complicated Reverso with everything but the kitchen sink. The main dial is relatively sober with merely the time and the tourbillon carriage (with an experimental escapement no less and not mention the indicators for day/night and the power reserve), the flipside reveals an entire world of calendrical, celestial, and astronomical complications: on the face of the carriage, an instantaneous perpetual calendar with a leap-year indicator and precision moonphase and on the reverse, the equation of time, a zodiac calendar, an astronomical chart, as well as indicators for the times of the sunrise and the sunset.
