This is a hike up Ecuador's Cotopaxi Volcano, one of the highest active volcanos in the world at 5,897 meters. During our visit in January 2017 the Cotopaxi summit was closed to climbers due to volcanic activities but you can still hike to Cotopaxi base camp at about 4,800 meters. The journey then continued by mountain biking through Cotopaxi National Park down to a lake, Control Capsi.
