The shift from desktop/Internet computing to mobile Internet computing will transform the way we work and conduct business. Manufacturers will embrace radical new technologies and change business processes to take advantage of smart mobile devices and the Internet of Things. Supervisors should be untethered from their desktop computer, and other workers can benefit from ready access to information in the palm of their hands. In addition, the information they gather is needed by others, but often delayed, muddled, or lost prior to entry into the IT systems when they return to their desks. With immediate access to information and the ability to provide updates while they are physically at the work, improvements in productivity, accuracy, and compliance occur. Mobility allows them to stay connected, enter information as part of the normal work processes, and keep the business information current and synchronized. High quality and timely data going into the systems leads to actionable information coming out. In this session, each participant should find new approaches to improve their organization's agility.
