To me, Carmenère is Chile. It is the only country in the world that produces Carmenère of excellent quality. Nobody equals us. Another characteristic of Carmenère is bravery, because it is difficult to find a specific place to produce this strain. It is very difficult to produce it. Second, it is the strain that takes the longest to mature, up to three or four weeks longer than other strains. For that you have to be brave, because winter and the rains are approaching. But you have to wait to get the quality that we are going to find in these bottles. In this box we are going to try three different vintages. Wines that have things in common and also differences, because they are all from different years. Something in common about these three vintages is that all of them are from slightly warmer years, which benefits Carmenère tremendously for its maturity and elegance. In each year there were climatic conditions that made them special. 2015 had a cold winter and that made this Carmenère a little spicier, very fun and aromatic. Then, 2017 was considerably warmer, from start to finish. And that made this wine more ripe, rounder, with darker grapes. Very fun, but with a very, very soft mouth. And finally, 2020 was one of the best harvests we have ever produced. Also a warmer year, with a longer autumn. This allowed us to preserve that acidity and freshness, and also obtain those pleasant aromas of Carmenère such as that black and somewhat thick fruit that makes it so complex and unique.
