Some stadiums allow ball-retrieving devices. Others don't. In this case, I asked the nearest usher if I could attempt to reel in the ball from the bullpen. He shrugged and said, "I've never heard any rule about that either way," so I went for it. I was still nervous, though, so I kept looking off to the side. I ended up snagging 11 baseballs at this game, giving five of them away to kids, and raising more than $500 for the charity Pitch In For Baseball.
