Soliloquy in C-minor by logan.jacob
Soliloquy in C-minor is an hour long evolving piece in six movements which features an underlying ambient atmosphere throughout the entire album. The ambient base of the album, which sparked the inspiration for the album, was the result of recording a random pitch generator (quantized to C minor) into my Eurorack system and my iOS production system for an hour. Each section is built on top of the ambient texture, and is an evolution from a slow improvised piano solo through a big, cinematic climax, and back to a single Eurorack melody at the close. The piece is evocative of a "one man show" style play, with our main character starting by muttering a few barely coherent thoughts, gaining confidence through prayer, inspiration from others, self-affirmation and finally blasting into a sermon-like exhortation before closing with quiet self-reflection.
