The day Camden Town looked like an outdoor transport museum. Due to the London Underground Tube strike; disgruntled and weary commuters & travellers were in for an unexpected treat: because some of the rail replacement "special service" buses were old heritage buses on the number 29 bus route which runs from Wood Green to Trafalgar Square.
Buses recorded are RT3062, RT3238, RT3871 & RML2755
Note:The red RT3062 model was introduced in 1950 and withdrawn from service in 1981, and the green RT3238 was withdrawn from service in 1972.
Video recorded on Tuesday 29th April 2014 on and around Camden Road in London.
(The strike was called by the Royal and Maritime and Transport (RMT) and Transport Salaried Staff Association unions in protest over the closure of ticket offices and the loss of 750 jobs. The strike action is planned to take place again on next weeks bank holiday Monday).
