With Andre Fischer [ Ссылка ]

According to producer Andre Fischer (Natalie's husband at that time and former member of Rufus with Chaka Khan), the song became an emotional goodbye to her father, Nat King Cole.
Andre talks about how being a member of a band helped him become a producer. Andre values creativity over technology. He says he's a content-based artist. "You hear the song, not the technology," says Fischer.
We talk collaborators in the studio at Capitol, how they divided work between producers David Foster (pop credibility), and Tommy LiPuma (helped clear archival music) and what was it like to work with his beloved friend and engineer, Al Schmitt. Andre talks his choice of fine musicians (Gayle Levant, Suzie Katayama) and arrangers -Johnny Mandell, Marty Paich, and Clare Fischer (his uncle), to name a few. He talks managing budgets and taking bold, new musical direction, before American Songbook became vogue. How they dealt with leakage from the archival tapes for the virtual duet (another first). We talk, family, racial tension and how music became a refuge to rise above it all. Andre pays tributes to her mom who taught him to listen and work with singers abd divas like Diane Schuur and Nina Simone who have graced his musical journey.
