We begin tonight with a dramatic development here in Nairobi. The national government has now taken over the running of Nairobi county. In the first move of its kind since the advent of devolution, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko signed away key functions at a ceremony at state house Nairobi. Under the deal presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta, functions such as health, public works, transport and utilities will now be managed by the national government.
