Batman is Turkish? 🇹🇷
Well, technically it is! Because this city, and province in Turkiye is actually called Batman!
The reason why it is called Batman is because of the Batman river that is right next to it, but nevertheless, the Batman series are so famous that the similarity is starting to become a thing.
Some years ago, the mayor of Batman tried to sue Christopher Nolan and Warner Brothers for using the name of the city without their permission . And so far more than 26,000 people have signed a petition to change the shape of this region so that it looks like the Batman logo.
And, although this sounds ridiculous, in my opinion, it would be the most incredible marketing move in history, especially because Batman is a really nice place, but nobody goes there 🤷🏼♂️ I’m not only that, it’s very close to another place called Mardin, which is a touristic town, so maybe this border idea is exactly what the town needs.
