The inspection is one of several measures announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa after 23 children died from food poisoning due to illegal pesticides. Ramaphosa said shops implicated in deaths would be closed immediately and a multidisciplinary team involving police, health officials and environmental inspectors would lead efforts to deal with the crisis.
