Rescue operations for the miners who were trapped inside a coal mine in Assam’s Dima Hasao in Umrangso district entered day 2 on Jan 07. Teams from the Indian Army, Air Force, Navy, Assam Rifles, NDRF, SDRF teams, and other agencies joined the ongoing rescue operations. Armed forces spearheaded the rescue operation with specialized equipment as medical teams also joined the ongoing rescue operation. At least 9 miners were feared trapped inside a coal mine in Assam’s Umrangso after a tragic flood incident on Jan 06.
