In early 2012 Good Move! Music was commissioned to work with two classes of year 5 students from Millbank Primary School in Pimlico, London.
The objective of the project was to help the children create a new performance inspired by the musical STOMP.
Through a process of grid based composition the children composed a collection of rhythms that they then performed on various household items.
The project explored:
- can sound tell a story?
- textures / timbres
- composition
- improvisation
- bars, beats and time signatures
- group & individual work
- ensemble playing
- performance skills
