Produced by the Institute for Public Administration (IPA) at the University of Delaware in collaboration with the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), this video considers the impacts of impact of autonomous and connected vehicles (CAVs) on areas such as roadway safety, traffic congestion, and the economy. Delaware's dense and diverse transportation geography, size and regional location, and predominance of state-owned roads make the state well positioned to test CAV technology. In 2017, Delaware Governor John Carney established a Advisory Council to develop recommendations for innovative tools and strategies that can be used to prepare Delaware’s transportation network for CAVs.
