The old railway station used by author RK Narayan in the Malgudi Days adaptation has been converted into a museum. Shankar Nag had serialized 'Malgudi Days', a collection of short stories by renowned writer RK Narayan. This serial shooting was in Shimoga district. There was some serial shooting at the Arasala railway station. To commemorate this, the old station has been converted into a Malgudi Museum at a cost of Rs 25 lakh.
ಲೇಖಕ ಆರ್.ಕೆ.ನಾರಾಯಣ್ ಅವರ ‘ಮಾಲ್ಗುಡಿ ಡೇಸ್’ ಕೃತಿ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಧಾರವಾಹಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಅರಸಾಳು ಹಳೆ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವನ್ನು ಮ್ಯೂಸಿಯಂ ಆಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಖ್ಯಾತ ಸಾಹಿತಿ ಆರ್ ಕೆ ನಾರಾಯಣ್ ಅವರ ಸಣ್ಣ ಕಥೆಗಳ ಸಂಕಲನವನ್ನು 'ಮಾಲ್ಗುಡಿ ಡೇಸ್' ಎಂಬ ಧಾರಾವಾಹಿಯಾಗಿ ಶಂಕರ್ ನಾಗ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಧಾರಾವಾಹಿಯ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ಅರಸಾಳು ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಧಾರಾವಾಹಿ ಕೆಲವು ಭಾಗದ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ನಡೆದಿತ್ತು. ಈ ನೆನಪಿಗಾಗಿ 25 ಲಕ್ಷ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಳೆಯ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವನ್ನು ಮಾಲ್ಗುಡಿ ಮ್ಯೂಸಿಯಂ ಆಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
