Congress is in recess right now, but that is not stopping Democrats from doubling down on the abortion issue. They are hoping the political effect of overturning Roe v Wade will significantly alter the midterm elections. When Congress returns next month, Democrats want to pass the Women's Health Care Protection Act and a variety of other bills such as one to protect medical staff from prosecution, who perform abortions. The effort is being led by self professed Catholic Senator Patty Murray of Washington and Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut. When asked, what about the rights of the unborn, Murray responded with "We are protecting women and families to be able to make their own decisions, based on their own beliefs, with their family and their physician." However, Republicans vow no abortion bills are going to pass the US Senate. Capitol Hill Correspondent, Erik Rosales reports.
