The University of South Wales hosted a ‘model’ NATO summit attended by Sixth-Form students from Wales and England at its Newport City Campus on 5-6th September 2014.
The conference saw students representing different countries and replicating some of the debates and discussions that world leaders were grappling with at the actual NATO summit at the Celtic Manor Resort.
The idea was to give young people an insight into how international issues such as Islamic State movements and global stability are discussed and negotiated.
The conference has been organised and is co-chaired by the University of South Wales’s Dr Bela Arora and Birmingham University’s Prof. Mark Webber, of the British International Studies Association (BISA) Executive Committee.
