Today we will be doing the most popular yoga sequence – Surya Namaskar or the Sun Salutation. It comprises of a sequence of 12 yoga asanas which flow seamlessly one after the other. Apart from being a great way to energise and warm up your body before you start your yoga practice surya namaskar actually has many benefits.
- When done at a slow pace, it helps in increasing flexibility,
- When done at a medium pace, it helps in toning your muscles
- When done at a fast pace, it serves as an excellent cardiovascular exercise.
Today we will learn how to do this amazing sequence with correct alignment and breathing. Correct breathing is as important as the asana itself. So make sure you pay attention to that as well. So once you are ready, let hop onto the mat and get going!
