Takayama is famous for Hida beef, a breed of wagyu kuroge or Japanese black cattle. Hidagyu Maruaki (丸明 飛騨高山店) is a butcher shop with a large restaurant, just 5 minutes from JR Takayama Station. The restaurant is highly popular due to its cheap affordable prices. No reservations are accepted and the waiting list is always very long. But don't be daunted! The service here is prompt and the line moves quite quickly. In our video, we introduce their shabu shabu and yakiniku menu.
