Today’s tradition of having a Christmas tree dates back to 16th-century Germany, when people first started bringing trees into their homes to decorate.
It’s no wonder then that the world’s tallest Christmas tree – made out of actual trees! – is erected every year in Dortmund, Germany. At 45 meters in height, weighing 40,000 kilograms and decorated with 48,000 lights, this Christmas tree is truly spectacular. Ever in search of new challenges, our reporter Max Merrill set off to scale the world’s tallest “natural” Christmas tree and attach his very own tree to the impressive giant.
