Siem Reap is the capital of Cambodia's province of the same name. The city has 139,458 inhabitants, making it the third largest city in Cambodia. At the 1998 census, the city still had 99,259 inhabitants.
Close to the city is the Angkor monument, which is a World Heritage Site.
