The cable car is situated in the municipality of Benalmadena, in Malaga province. It connects Arroyo de la Miel to the top of the Monte Calamorro in the Mijas mountain range at a height of about 769 metres. From Monte Calamorro you can see the coast of Africa on a clear day. The Benalmadena Cable Car opened in the year 2000, and since then it has become one of the main tourist attractions not only of Benalmadena, but of the whole Costa del Sol.
