6 karela take out the seeds
In a pot with boiling water add karela to steam
Drain and leave to cool off
Blended Seasoning
3 broad leaf thyme
9 small cloves of garlic
3 green onions
1/2 hot pepper
Dried ingredients
2 tbsp curry powder
1 tbsp roasted ground geera/cumin
1 tsp gara masala
1 tsp turmeric
Mix blended seasoning with dried ingredients to make a curry paste
Stuffing for karela
Striped turkey pieces
Add 1/2 of the curry paste and mix well
In a pot with 1 tsp oil
Cook turkey mixture
Add 1/2 tsp oil and cook for 2-4 minutes
Stuff karela with turkey mixture
In a pan with oil Fry karela until they are nice and brown
In a pot with 1 tsp oil
Add other half of curry paste and cook for two minutes
Add 1 chopped onion
Add 1 chopped shallot
Add 1 tsp salt
Add the cream of one coconut (1/2 cup)
Add 3 cups of water
Add stuffed karela and cook to desired
Enjoy with roti or rice
