- This year first meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group was over in Minsk. Darka Olifer, Leonid Kuchma's press secretary, presented this information in the Facebook.
According to her, Ukraine supports Russia representative Boris Gryzlov's initiative to announce ceasefire which is to start immediately.
Besides, as Olifer informs, Ukraine initiated the release of more than 50 people — first of all, the wounded, seriousely ill, and women — from both sides in the near future , and all parties agreed.
- On January 13, local authorities and relatives of the victims commemorated the passengers of the bus which was shelled a year ago at the checkpoint in Volnovakha, the Donetsk region. The people present put flowers to the monument which was errected at the place of the tragedy. It happened on January 13, 2015, when the bus going from Donetsk to Zlatoustivka was shelled and 12 people perished with 18 more wounded.
- The validity of permits to cross the demarcation line has been prolonged, according to Anton Myronovych, ATO Headquarters spokesperson. The permits are valid till the end of this year.
- On January 11, there was an explosion in a flat at 35, Khmelnytskoho Boulvard in Mariupol. According to the information of the Donetsk Regional National Police press center, a gas stove exploded. There was a 55-year-old woman with her 8-year-old grandson in the flat at that time. According to the victim, the gas stove had not worked properly for several last days. A criminal proceeding has been opened.
- People have to queue for several hours to get social payments in occupied Donetsk and Makiivka, according to a DPTV correspondent. To remind the readers and viewers, “DPR” grouping has set up their “bank branches” on the basis of Ukrainian banks which are not working on the occupied territory.
