Video footage taken from my second ever live show, filmed at the Hadleigh Old Fire Station in Hadleigh, Essex. This was part of a Courier Sound record label event with Dead Circuits, Stuart Bowditch, Alien, Eumig and Pancake Promises also on the bill.
Having recently got my Tascam 414 4 Track and a new found love of making tape loops, coupled with the fact that I had a short set and definitely not enough floor space for my full guitar rig, I decided to opt for not using the guitar at all. Instead I played a loosely improvised set set using a synth tape loop I recorded onto the Tascam, my trusty Casiotone MT-400V organ, my SpaceCat analog synth through a delay, and part of a Martin Luther King speech on a tape loop through another delay!
It was a lot of fun but really challenging taking a Rorquals set in such a different direction on only my second gig...however I think I pulled it off as folks seemed to dig my noise....I hope you do too!
