Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday extended the coronavirus-induced lockdown in the state till 6 am on July 19. However, the state government has eased certain restrictions in view of drop in daily cases and has allowed shops to remain open till 9 pm from Monday.
Announcing graded easing of lockdown restrictions, the Tamil Nadu government said that recruitment exams conducted by the Central and state governments will now be permitted.
Additionally, though the state has not restarted inter-state buses, bus services to Puducherry have now been allowed to operate.
Meanwhile, international air services (excluding those permitted by the Central government), liquor bars, swimming pools, theaters, social and political public meetings, recreational activities, colleges, schools, zoos will continue to remain shut.
