Ferrari has introduced an in-season engine upgrade that appears to have eradicated a key part of its power unit weakness and tipped the balance in the battle for third with McLaren.
At first Ferrari wouldn’t reveal the gains it saw from its new hybrid system for “confidentiality” reasons but the more the upgrade has been used since then, the more we’ve been able to learn.
