Why do I keep doing this to myself?

I acquired a 2008 Mazda3 from a friend for next to nothing. Why is such a relatively new car so cheap? Well, it is ROUGH and needs a lot of work. So, it's time to clean this thing up and get it out of the driveway so I can work on the fast cars. Follow up as I try to polish this project car to perfection.
