Novak Djokovic has returned to a hero's welcome in Serbia two days after winning his fourth US Open at Flushing Meadows.
Novak was back in Belgrade alongside the Serbian men's national basketball team – who were celebrating their recent silver medal at the FIBA World Cup.
The tennis legend showed up unannounced, surprising his compatriots and was eventually overcome by emotion as thousands cheered him on.
Novak Djokovic is one Grand Slam tournament win away from becoming the most successful tennis player ever after he defeated Dannil Medvedev 6-3, 7-6(5), 6-3 in New York on Sunday.
Mr Djokovic's historic win in New York means the Serbian has now equalled Margaret Court's record of 24 major singles titles.
