Woman under arrest over de-ath of Russian military blogger in St Petersburg explo,sion
A 26-year-old woman has been arrested for ki lling a pro-war military blogger when a cafe exploded in St Petersburg.
The blast also injured around 30 people, 10 of whom are in critical condition, according to authorities.
Russia's Investigative Committee said Daria Trepova had been detained following the de,ath of Vladlen Tatarsky in the blast as he gave a talk on Sunday.
Trepova's partner, Dmitry Rylov, told Russia's SVTV News that although his wife opposed the war in Ukraine, "she would never k,ill" and "believes his wife was framed".
He was one of the most prominent of the influential military bloggers who have continued to comment on Russia invading Ukraine.
The bo,mb was hidden in a bust of the blogger given to him by the suspect shortly before the expl,osion, according to Russian news reports.
The non-profit group was founded by opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who is currently serving a prison sentence in Russia for alleged fraud and contempt of court, and has investigated corruption among high-ranking Russian officials.
Trepova is an "active supporter" of the group, which has previously been declared a "foreign agent" and banned in Russia, according to the National Anti-Terrorist Committee.
