What is “Shrink to fit” and how you can do it in excel?
Shrink to fit is an Excel Built-in feature. Sometimes we need to shrink words or text so that it fits inside a cell. If you don’t have any problem resizing cell height & width to fit its text, then you are good to go. But if you have cell height or width constraints, then it’s wise to shrink the text. If you shrink text in excel, you’ll be able to fit larger texts inside a tiny cell. In a previous tutorial, I’ve shown something similar, and it was done with Excel VBA. In this Excel tutorial, I’ll cover how you can fit text inside cells using Excel’s “Shrink to Fit” feature. It’s a built-in feature, and it’s effortless. Follow the instruction below to shrink text in excel and fit it inside a cell.

Step 1: Select the data range where you want to apply the “shrink to fit” feature.
Step 2: Right-click and select format cells.
Step 3: Click on the “Alignment” tab.
Step 4: Checkmark “Shrink to fit” under the “Text Control” section.
Step 5: Click OK.
It will shrink all the text that you selected earlier in a way that they fit inside the cells.
