It made a new flight as part of the ongoing flight tests. The production of Tu-160 strategic missile-carrying bomber aircraft is being restored at the Kazan aircraft plant after a 10-year break. Externally the new plane does not differ from baseline Tu-160, but as it is said its combat capabilities will significantly increase, including at the expense of expansion of weaponry spectrum. Besides, a new series of engines NK-32-02 is being produced for this aircraft, which will enable Tu-160M and M2 to increase their range by 1000 km.
