If you’re curious about what gear you need to be safe on the water in the winter, then this video might help you! I am sharing the gear that I use to stay safe and warm on the water so I can build my base in the off season. For context, I live in the northeastern United States and we get freezing air and water temperatures, snow, and ice. Depending on how cold the winter is and on the body of water, our water will start to freeze or completely freeze. Even when the water is paddle-able, you still need safety gear to avoid hypothermia, cold water shock, and death.
