Michael Bolton - Steel Bars out now!

"Steel Bars" was one of the most exciting experiences of my life because I wrote it with Bob Dylan. I don't know exactly what he said during the first two minutes of our writing session because all I was thinking was "oh my god this is Bob Dylan,” — I was just a complete fan, just a mega fan. I came up with a bunch of different options, chord changes on my acoustic guitar. And I was humming some melodies, and he said "oh, Steel Bars, wrapped all around me" and I said to myself 'that's so Dylan, I love it’.

It's an incredible experience having 60 plus symphony orchestra musicians playing these beautiful arrangements of some of my favorite songs. It brings so much more dimension to songs I've recorded, some I've written, a lot of them hits of mine but that I've been performing all around the world for about 35 years. Now I get to experience the width and breadth of the emotional content of the songs, transformed through this amazing group of arrangements that is this symphonic orchestra album. It’s truly a dream come true for me.

The album, A Symphony of Hits, which includes Steel Bars, debuted number #1 on the Billboard Classical Album Chart in 2019.
