I am a Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video I will tell you what happened on the one hundred and twenty second day of the war.
Day 122: June 25
In the east, there are a lot of good news for the Ukrainians. Even according to the Russian sources, most of the Ukrainians will be able to escape the pocket in the east.
Around a week ago the reports of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation suggested that there are around 15 thousand soldiers in the east: 3 thousand in Hirske-Zolote, 8 thousand in Lysychansk, 2 thousand in Sieverodonetsk, and 2 thousand in Borivske and other settlements.
If we look at their estimates right now, we can see that these numbers significantly decreased. More and more information comes up confirming that the Ukrainians in Sieverodonetsk are crossing the river in small groups and that many of them are already in Lysychansk, although several hundred troops are still trapped inside the factory. According to the Russian sources, the Russians also took control over a lot of ground to the south of Sieverodonetsk, and were able to estimate that there are no more than 800 troops left. And a lot of troops that were located in Lysychansk have already been relocated to Bakhmut, and Sloviansk, there are even some video confirmations of the Ukrainians going on a bus to Sloviansk. In Hirske-Zolote there are less than 1000 troops left out of around 3 thousand. There is some information, suggesting that most of those who left the pocket right before it fully formed, were allocated to strengthen the Bakhmut defense. Overall, the head of Luhansk People’s Republic announced that right now they are able to capture around 4.5 thousand troops in the east. This means that around 10 thousand soldiers were already relocated from the Lysychansk agglomeration to Bahmut and Sloviansk.
I do not know how this can be in line with their claims that they control all the roads and heavily bomb them and destroy convoys – it is just not in line. There is overwhelming evidence of the fact that the Ukrainians managed to retreat and save a substantial number of troops, while the rearguard troops provided them cover and, unfortunately, necessarily had to remain on their positions.
When it comes to the actual changes to the front line, today the Russians made a series of attack. As most of the Ukrainians have left Sieverodonetsk, and those who remained are mostly trapped, the Head of Luhansk Military Administration announced that the town of Sieverodonetsk was fully captured by the Russians. The Russians also assaulted Syrotyne, Voronove and attacked the remaining forces in Metyolkine. When it comes to the area to the west of Lysychansk, the Russians assaulted Bila Hora with no success, and continued to push in Vovchiarivka with some success. For the most part the Russians engaged their artillery and aviation to bomb this region and destroy bridges, that leave the possibility for the Ukrainians to make a counterattack while the Russians are regrouping. Overall, the intensity of these attacks and their progress has decreased compared to the previous days. This was to be expected, as after taking so much territory, they need to regroup.
In the north-east, the Russians resumed their offensive operation. According to some sources, the Russians took control over the village of Syrotyne. Nonetheless, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russians focused their efforts on the Dovhenke-Khrestysche direction. Today the enemy assaulted Bohorodychne, Krasnopillia and Mazanivka. By the end of the day these attacks were repelled – the enemy suffered losses and had to retreat.
In the south-east, the Russians have conducted a series of attacks on the ground. A few days ago the Russians conducted yet another attack on Marinka, which was again unsuccessful. Today the Russians made two attacks: one was made from Yasynuvata and one from Vasylivka. The target of these assaults became Kamianka. Their objective was to establish greater control over the road and also Kamianka itself, but these attacks also were repelled.
