The Penguins hit the road and head to Nashville to take on the Predators at Bridgestone Arena. In the 1st period, both teams fought hard but the board remained scoreless. In the middle frame, the Penguins out-possessed the Predators, but Nashville has done a good job getting shots in bunches. Nonetheless, after 40 minutes of play, there were not any goals yet, but the shots on goal were 26-22 in favor of Pittsburgh. In the 3rd period, things would change. The Predators would open up the scoring first on a goal by Mark Jankowski. Sidney Crosby had the response to tie it right back up. Shooting 5-hole, he would squeak the puck past the goaltender. With the clock ticking down, Jason Zucker shot the puck on net and with the perfect bounce off the goaltenders' pads got the go-ahead goal for the Penguins. With seven seconds left in the game, Bryan Rust made a diving effort, swinging his stick with one hand to knock the puck into the empty net and seal the victory. The Penguins won 3-1.
