KULGAM POLICE ARRESTED FIVE NOTORIOUS DRUG PEDDLERS/SUPPLIERS ALONGWITH 1642 Bottles of illicit Liquor, 186 kgs of Poppy Straw and 200 grams of cannabis like substance

Kulgam :Sep 06:In our campaign "war on drugs" in a major success District Police Kulgam during intervening night of 05/06 September generated a specific information regarding drug peddling at Drien Qazigund, Acting swiftly Police party led by SDPO Quazigund Shri Mohd Shafeeq and SHO Qazigund Mr irshad Reshi under the supervision of SSP kulgam Shri Gurinder pall on tip off reached the Suspected spot (Dhaba) apprehended five notorious drug peddlers/suppliers on spot alongwith *Illicit liquor 1642 Bottles, Poppy straw 186 Kgs, Cannabis (Charas)200 Grams,* like substances..
The identity of peddlers/suppliers was ascertained as:
1. Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh S/O late Mohd Jamal Sheikh R/O Drian Qazigund ( unarrested ).
2. Partap Singh S/O Plyara Singh R/O Dogar Kud.
3. Shakeel Ahmad Wani S/O Noor Mohammad Wani R/O Panzath Wanpora.
4. Raju Singh S/O Lajpat Singh R/O Kud.
5. Anchal Singh S/O Shivlal Singh R/O Batote.
6. Rajesh Kumar S/O Satpal R/O Talab Tillow Jammu.
Regarding the incident case FIR No. 251/2020 U/S 48 Excise Act, 8/15, 20 NDPS act stands registered in Police station Qazigund and further investigation into the matter has been taken up. And searches are going on to arrest the absconding person.
It is pertinent to mention that Kulgam police has launched a full fledged war against drug peddlers/drug dealings and will continue its unwavering efforts to eradicate all forms of illegal drugs/social evils within the District with Re-invigorating anti-criminality campaigns. General public of District Kulgam is once again requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling or any other anti social activities in their vicinity.
