High winds can be damaging to your flagpole, and parts of the flagpole. If there is a high wind warning in your area, be sure to bring down your flag. Although, the flagpole is still exposed to the wind, the stress on the pole is not as bad. Imagine how much the flagpole pulls when the wind is trying to blow off the flag.
We saw some flagpole and flag destruction from the winds came through on 12/30/2022. These same winds resulted in the Marshall Fire in Boulder County.
