This quiz contains frames from 50 classic films - your job is to name the films based on a single frame.

Now, let's get some definitions straight. The accepted meaning of "classic" is something that is over 20 years old. We're not going to be following that specific meaning, though. When I say classic, I'm talking about stuff that's at least older than 1970. I'm thinking movies that were made before the modern rating system was developed in the late 60s. I mean movies that were shot in black and white for reasons other than artistic purposes.

Your mileage may vary. It just seems like "pre-1970" was a good starting point for this series, since I also have a "popular movie" series that starts with 1970.

So that's the criteria - the movies featured here were all released prior to 1970. Are they all considered classic films in the sense that they're critically acclaimed or box-office successes? Haha, no. Some of these movies are really only known because Joel, Tom Servo and Crow watched them on the Satellite of Love...

But I did aim for at least a 50 percent "you should know it" rate, combined with a 25 percent "if you're a TCM nerd, you should know it" rate. So that's the target range we're looking for.
