Trump's first impeachment - 2020
Rep. Adam Schiff, the lead House manager, defended his staff, saying they worked with “complete professionalism” when it came to the whistleblower’s complaint that lead to the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump. Schiff said some of his staff has concerns over their safety because of the online threats they have been receiving. He further pledged to protect the whistleblower because of the threats they could also face. The House of Representatives impeached Trump in December on two articles -- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The questions come ahead of a vote on whether to bring forward witnesses and documents as part of the Senate trial. The senate must now decide whether to acquit the president or convict him of the charges and remove him from office.
