The United States donated another 3.5 million doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine to Bangladesh -- free of charge -- bringing the total number of U.S. vaccine donations to 15 million, with millions more on the way! These U.S.-donated Pfizer vaccines will enable the Government of Bangladesh to expand the national COVID-19 vaccination campaign to reach young people over the age of 12. In preparation, USAID has provided training for over 600 nurses and health workers to prepare them to safely administer vaccines to youth beginning October 30th.
The United States has provided $121 million in assistance to help Bangladesh fight the pandemic and we will continue to stand together with Bangladesh, with more free COVID-19 vaccines coming soon.
