We stayed at Quinta do Vallado in the Douro Valley of Portugal. We were treated to a picnic high up in the hills of their vineyards.

Quinta do Vallado, built in 1716, is one of the oldest and most famous estates in the Douro Valley.

It is located on the banks of the Corgo River, a tributary of the Douro River, right next to its mouth, close to the town of Peso da Régua.

It belonged to the family of the legendary Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, and remains today in the possession of her descendants.

We will share a slideshow featuring Quinta do Vallado winery and vineyards next.

This is part of our series on Portugal, we will be sharing several videos and slideshows from our trip to Portugal in March of 2020, just before everyone started locking down due to the Corona Virus. It was our only trip of 2020.
